Snow remains in the forecast for much of Colorado Tuesday before chances fade, but cold and dreary skies could be around all week, according to the National Weather Service Office in Boulder.

Snow or rain will linger in the metro area until about lunchtime Tuesday, according to the forecast. A high of 54 degrees is possible.

Highs in the metro region are expected to be in the 50s all week — reaching 58 on Wednesday — but overnight lows will remain near 30.

Partly cloudy skies are expected each day, as well, with a slight chance of rain or snow along the Front Range Thursday.

The city should see sunnier, warmer weather on the weekend, with highs reaching into the 60s on Sunday.

The Eastern Plains could see five inches of snow between Sterling and Lion by Tuesday afternoon, according to the forecast.

The High Country could see another six inches of snow on northwest slopes by Tuesday night after receiving up to eight inches in some locations since Sunday, according to the Weather Service.

The latter half of the week provides good chances for more snow in the mountains, as the cold front pushes across the region.
