COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—A 67-year-old inmate at the El Paso County jail has died after collapsing in a holding cell at the courthouse.
The sheriff’s department says Bruce Howard was awaiting a court appearance on Monday when he collapsed.
The cause of death hasn’t been released. Sheriff’s Lt. Lari Sevene says an autopsy will likely be conducted.
Howard had been arrested Friday night in Fountain on suspicion of assault, harassment and obstruction of telephone or telegraph service.
