Jack Lemmon, a veteran administrator of dance companies across the country, will replace Lisa Snider as executive director of the Colorado Ballet.

He will begin his duties in January, the company announced Tuesday.

Lemmon, who grew up in Grand Junction, has served as executive director of the Tulsa Ballet, Ballet Idaho, Joffrey Ballet and, most recently, the Louisville Ballet. He also is on the board of Dance/USA, a national support organization for professional dance.

Snider, who has headed the Colorado Ballet since 2005, announced in April that she would step down in December, allowing the company time to find her successor.
