A man who allegedly harassed women at a recent football game was arrested today after he allegedly harassed a female University of Colorado student on campus, authorities say.
Thomas Corwin-Smith, 33, was arrested for investigation of harassment and unlawful conduct involving a female University of Colorado student, CU police Cmdr. Tim McGraw said.
Campus police are investigating whether Corwin-Smith committed other sexually related offenses in Boulder in recent weeks, McGraw said.
At about 10 a.m. today, Corwin-Smith reportedly approached the woman from behind while she was crossing on the south side of the 19th Street footbridge over Boulder Creek, and made sexually suggestive comments, McGraw said.
He then grabbed her by the shoulder, pulled her back, stepped in front of her, and said, “You’re pretty,” according to a news release.
The woman, who was not physically hurt, ran to the University Memorial Center and called police, the release says. Police arrested Corwin-Smith on campus.
On Sept. 19 Corwin-Smith had been warned at a CU football game for making “bothersome comments to women near the stadium,” the news release said.
Corwin-Smith has a lengthy criminal history involving mostly misdemeanor offenses including assaults, drunken driving, theft, trespassing and illegal drug possession dating back to 1993, according to Colorado Bureau of Investigation records.
