A 70-year-old Phoenix man was arrested Monday night after he allegedly robbed the Wells Fargo Bank at 12601 W. 32nd Ave. in Wheat Ridge.

An FBI news release identified the man as Dammy McClanahan.

He allegedly entered the bank at about 6 p.m. and asked for money. After receiving cash, he fled the area in a vehicle with Arizona license plates.

Six law-enforcement agencies were involved in the pursuit as the robber fled south on Interstate 25.

The chase ended at I-25 and Founders Parkway, where the Colorado State Patrol and Douglas County sheriff’s officers blocked the road and apprehended McClanahan without incident, FBI special agent Kathy Wright said in the release.

The stolen cash was visible inside the vehicle, authorities said.
