CHEYENNE — The University of Wyoming plans to welcome donors and sponsors at football games in style starting in 2010.
When football season wraps up in a few weeks, the university plans to begin a $21 million project to build enclosed luxury suites and a club area on top of the east side of War Memorial Stadium.
The 10 luxury suites will each have a dozen seats. Two other suites will seat up to 30 people. The club area will have a buffet and seating for about 260.
“It’s designed as a nice, sports bar-type feel,” Jennifer Coast, capital projects manager for the university, said Tuesday.
Private donations will cover nearly half of the project’s cost. Construction is expected to take about 18 months, and the new boxes are expected to generate $600,000 a year.

Ball State improved to 10-0 for the first time and next plays at Central Michigan on Nov. 19 — a game that could decide the Mid-American Conference’s West champion.
Last year, the Chippewas won 58-38 in Muncie, Ind.
