DENVER—The director of the agency that distributes the state’s share of lottery proceeds is stepping down to join an energy industry trade group.
John Swartout said Thursday he will become senior vice president for policy and government affairs for the Colorado Oil and Gas Association.
Swartout has been director of the Great Outdoors Colorado Trust Fund since January 2004.
The fund, known as GOCO, distributes Colorado Lottery proceeds for projects that protect and improve wildlife, parks, rivers, trails and open space.
Swartout’s last day at GOCO is Dec. 1.
