John Swartout, who has been executive director of the Lottery-funded Great Outdoors Colorado Trust Fund since January 2004, announced Thursday he will leave Dec. 1.
Swartout will be joining the Colorado Oil and Gas Association as its senior vice president for policy and government affairs.
During his tenure at Goco, $297 million in lottery funds were awarded to projects throughout the state. Of that total, $140.1 million went toward protecting 339,107 acres of open space across the state.
