A Northwestern University police officer has discovered personal items belonging to a 20-year-old student from Colorado who has been missing more than a week.

Trevor Boehm of Monument is a freshman at Northwestern’s School of Communication. The university says he was reported missing Sunday, when his parents showed up to visit and could not find him.

Authorities say he has not been seen in his classes or residence hall or used his student-identification card in dining halls since Nov. 5. Boehm’s jacket, cellphone, keys, ID card and other items were found on the shore of Lake Michigan on the school’s Evanston, Ill., campus Thursday.
