AIR FORCE ACADEMY — Anwar Johnson’s 15 points led four Falcons in double figures Sunday, and Air Force held off Cal State-Bakersfield 70-62.
Freshman Taylor Stewart added 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Falcons (2-0), who have gone 43-1 against nonconference opponents at home over the last seven seasons. Stewart is the first AFA freshman to post a double-double since Tom Bellairs in 1999-2000.
Junior Grant Parker set career highs with 12 points and nine boards for the Falcons, who held off the Roadrunners (0-2), thanks to Johnson’s three-point play that made it 63-57.
