The Colorado Historical Society and Tryba Architects released details of the proposed new Colorado History Museum on Monday night, including an emphasis on providing public spaces for gatherings, food service and shops as well as the primary mission of exhibiting Colorado history.

Design of the new museum, at 12th Avenue between Broadway and Lincoln Street, will be finalized by January.

The $112 million project, which must be approved by the legislature, includes $75 million for constructing the building.
