Denver Public Schools wants to increase the amount parents who make more than $72,080 a year or nonresidents pay for full-day preschool.

The school board will vote on the plan next month.

Parents with household gross incomes of more than $72,080 would pay $60 more or $450 a month tuition for full-day preschool at a facility with a three-star quality rating.

The total cost for preschool would be $950 a month, but a portion of that is paid by the district and the tax-subsidy provided by taxpayers.

Nonresidents would pay $720 a month whereas now they pay $390.Others whose gross income is less than $70,080 would not see increases. People who earn between $63,300 and $70,080 would see their tuition go down from $390 a month to $150.
