The University of Denver men’s soccer team, making its first NCAA Tournament appearance, will face California-Davis in the first round at 2 p.m. on Saturday in California. The 48-team bracket was announced in a selection show Monday.
Denver (10-6-2) won its first Mountain Pacific Sports Federation title and the league’s automatic tournament berth. Cal-Davis (12-4-4) will play in its second consecutive national tournament.
The winner will face No. 11 seed Michigan (12-5-3) in Ann Arbor, Mich., on Nov. 25.
“I think we’re capable of getting to play a couple of extra games because our guys are ready to play,” Denver coach Bobby Muuss said.
Wake Forest (18-1-1) is the tournament’s No. 1 seed.
DU volleyball team is the No. 3 seed.
The Denver volleyball team will play as the No. 3 seed when the Sun Belt Conference Tournament begins in Miami. The Pioneers (14-4) will face No. 6 Western Kentucky (12-5) on Thursday.
