BILLINGS, Mont. — Stillwater Mining Co., the only U.S. producer of platinum and palladium, will cut output at the East Boulder Mine and eliminate and transfer workers after a plunge in the metals’ prices.
The prices of palladium and platinum, Stillwater’s primary products, fell more than 60 percent from their levels earlier in the year, Stillwater said Monday in a statement.
