GOLDEN — Smoke from a prescribed burned in the Mount Evans State Wildlife Area west of Evergreen will be seen in Clear Creek and Jefferson counties.
The burn of up to 150 acres of ponderosa pine and meadow grasses is planned starting in mid-November as weather permits.
Conducting the burn are the Colorado State Forest Service and Colorado Division of Wildlife to reduce hazardous fuels and improve wildlife habitat.
