In a time when bad numbers dominate the news, it may interest you to know that Colorado’s high school participation in athletics remains strong. In the annual survey by the National Federation of State High School Associations, Colorado remained a strong 20th among 50 states and the District of Columbia. While the nation’s boys and girls participation grew for a record 19th consecutive school year, to 7,428,381 (including 4,372,115 boys), about 54.8 percent of high schoolers were involved in athletics.
