DES MOINES, Iowa—The Powerball jackpot is expected to grow to an estimated $61 million for Saturday since the midweek drawing went off without a grand prize winner, the Multi-State Lottery Association said.
The randomly selected numbers Wednesday were 8, 13, 38, 39 and 45. The Powerball was 31 and the Power Play number was 4.
Players matching all five numbers and the Powerball would have won or shared the $51.3 million jackpot.
Four tickets, sold in Iowa, Kentucky, Missouri and Pennsylvania, matched the first five numbers only to win $200,000 each.
The top prize in Colorado was $40,000 for a Power Play ticket that matched the Powerball, plus four of the other numbers, Colorado Lottery officials said.
Powerball was created in 1992 and launched in Colorado in 2001.
The game is now played in 29 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
