“Party Across America!” ($12.95, Adams Media) gives us 101 reasons to follow author and Fort Collins resident Michael Guerriero across the country in search of a good time. Festivals large and small, sporting events with party add-ons and well-known bashesMardi Gras, Cheyenne Frontier Days — are offered up alphabetically by region, starting with a short narrative about the nature of the celebration. Each is followed by basic get-there, get-around info and whether camping or lodging makes more sense and where, ticket prices and how to get ’em, what to pack and “party tips,” such as where to find the bathrooms or what to say at “Rocklahoma,” the hair metal fiesta in Pryor, Okla. (“You’re so much cuter than Dee Snider” is a suggestion). Overall, the book feels geared toward the under-30 crowd with the time, money and inclination to road-trip and drink a lot of beer.
