GREELEY, Colo.—Dayspring Christian beat Merino 26-8 to win the Class 1A 8-man football on Saturday, completing a perfect 12-0 season.
Quarterback Jared Sanderford was 10-for-20 for 215 yards and had three touchdowns for Dayspring. Merino won the title last year and its only two losses this season were to Dayspring.
Mike Moore had 10 receptions for 162 yards for Dayspring and kicked two field goals.
Dayspring kept Merino to four first downs and 18 plays in the first half.
Merino didn’t score until the fourth quarter when quarterback Wyatt Baber had a 1-yard sneak.
