A Boulder arson suspect who skipped a court hearing last week was arrested early this morning.

Boulder deputies located Bradley Lee Eckert, 48, at a home in 8800 block of Lakeside Drive about 5:30 a.m., the sheriff’s department said in a news release.

Eckert has been charged with attempted murder and arson for a May 24 fire that destroyed his former girlfriend’s duplex in Lefthand Canyon.

Two people in the adjoining apartment “narrowly avoided death” because neighbors woke them up and helped them get out, the release said.

Eckert was set to be arraigned in Boulder District Court on Friday but didn’t show up.

He is being held at the Boulder County Jail on $200,000 bond.
