In honor of its 100th anniversary as a league, the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference on Tuesday selected an all-century men’s basketball team, led by most valuable player DeMarcos Anzures of Metro State and former Roadrunners coach Mike Dunlap.
The 12-player team, selected by a vote of schools in the RMAC, also includes: Lee Barlow, Metro State; Jon Baskin, Mesa State; Nick Branting, Nebraska-Kearney; Alonzo Goldston, Fort Hays State; Lonnie Porter, Adams State; Jeff Rhodes, Colorado Mines; Brian Stamer, Colorado Christian; Nick Svehla, Nebraska-Kearney; Cal Tatum, CSU-Pueblo; Harold Ware, Western New Mexico; and Mark Worthington, Metro State.
Six commit to DU hockey.
The University of Denver hockey team signed six players to national letters of intent, coach George Gwozdecky said. The players are Matt Donovan, Edmond, Okla.; Adam Murray, Anchorage, Alaska; Shawn Ostrow, Calgary, Alberta; Paul Phillips, Darien, Ill.; Drew Shore, Denver; and William Wrenn, Anchorage, Alaska.
Donovan was picked in the fourth round, 96th overall, by the New York Islanders in this year’s NHL draft.
