Chances of snow in the city on Thanksgiving wobbled down to about 30 percent in the latest forecast, but light snow remains a possibility through the weekend, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

The Front Range is way behind schedule for snowfall this year, but cloudy skies and much cooler temperatures will hit the region Wednesday night after the warm weather moves out, according to the forecast.

The high temperature in Denver Wednesday could reach 60 degrees with sunny skies, followed by lows in the 20s and a high of only about 40 on Thanksgiving.

The forecast for the weekend includes cloudy skies, highs near 40 degrees and lows near 20 each day.

Temperatures are expected to warm above 50 degrees on Monday.

The average November temperature for the metro region is 37.5 degrees, with an average high of 51.5 degrees and an average low of 23.5, according to the National Weather Service.

The mountains have a better chance of precipitation starting Wednesday night and continuing through the holiday weekend, forecasters said.

The San Juan Mountains in southwest Colorado have the best chance of heavy snowfall, with lighter snow and rain expected across Western Colorado.

Four more ski resorts are schedule to open this week. Snowmass, Aspen Mountain and Telluride open for the seaon on Thursday. Silverton Mountain opens on Saturday.
