A traffic stop led to an armed standoff with police in Winter Park tonight.

Details were still developing at 10:15 p.m., nearly three hours after the stop on U.S. 40 near The Winter Park Mountain Lodge, a Grand County dispatcher said.

Negotiators are talking to the person. No shots had been fired.

The highway has been closed since the standoff began, the dispatcher said.

A clerk at the lodge said residents could go outside and they could leave the area, but they cannot return until police give approval.
