Four people have been arrested after a three-month investigation into cocaine and methamphetamine trafficking in the Rifle area, authorities announced today.
The individuals were identified as Roberto Gutierrez, 25; Lucia Trinidad, 21; Manuel Martinez-Ibarra, 39; and Angel Antonio Lopez, 39.
Tanny McGinnis, spokeswoman for the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office, said a task force of seven agencies executed four narcotics-related search warrants in the Rifle area.
The officers recovered cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana as well as drug paraphernalia, said McGinnis.
At two of the locations, the Department of Human Services also was called in because of children inside the residences.
Gutierrez and Trinidad were charged with counts of possession of methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana as well as multiple counts of child abuse.
Martinez-Ibarra was charged with possession of cocaine. Lopez was charged with possession of cocaine and two counts of child abuse.
Among the agencies involved in the raids were the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency, the Garfield County Sheriff’s Department, and the Rifle, Vail and Glenwood Springs police departments.
