DENVER—Investigators say excessive speed is believed to a contributing factor in a one-vehicle rollover crash in Adams County that killed a Brighton man.

The Colorado State Patrol says 22-year-old Matthew A. Johansmeier was westbound in an Oldsmobile Alero Coupe about 6:50 a.m. Thursday when he lost control of the car on a right hand curve about 15 miles north of Watkins.

The vehicle ran off the left side of the road, flipped three times and ejected the driver.

Authorities say Johansmeier was not wearing a seat belt.

The Adams County coroner pronounced him dead at the scene.
