Grammy-winning Tex-Mex trio stopped by the on Monday, and Reverb photographer checked in with this update and photo essay:
“Super loud, but killer tight. Amazing that three guys can sound this incredible. Henry Garza on lead guitar is way talented. It’s like he does lead and rhythm at the same time. JoJo Garza plays a six-string bass guitar and is just amazing to watch, and Ringo Garza is a powerhouse on drums. They say their influences are Richie Valens, Chuck Berry, Santana, Freddie King, Johnny Winter and the Vaughan Brothers. I can see the Johnny Winter and Rick Derringer in this Henry’s lead guitar work.
Openers offered a new take on traditional folk and blues from Coldwater, Miss. They were like the Allman Brothers and Johnny Winter wrapped into one, and the rocking-ist band I’ve seen in quite a while. The big guy on bass (Chris Chew) is lots of fun to watch with all his extreme facial expressions. He is huge — tall and around, and wears his guitar way high.”
