ALAMOSA, Colo.—A Denver man has been arrested after allegedly ramming a State Patrol cruiser and leading authorities on a 16-mile chase in southern Colorado.

Authorities say 38-year-old Sergio Ojeda was apprehended without injury after the incident Wednesday night.

Authorities say Ojeda threw his 1998 GMC pickup into reverse, rammed the State Patrol cruiser and sped away after the trooper had pulled him over in Costilla County.

The trooper, Mark Parson, was able to follow Ojeda, but police say the driver tried again to ram the patrolman’s car during the chase.

The State Patrol says the chase ended just north of the New Mexico state line when the pickup’s transmission failed.

Ojeda faces charges including DUI and attempting to assault an officer.
