GARLAND, TEXAS — Investigators believe a former Colorado man fatally shot his wife and teenage daughter and then killed himself at the family’s new home in Garland, Texas.
The bodies of the Andrews family were discovered Tuesday morning by the management staff of their apartment. Garland police say fellow employees of the man who lived there were concerned when he didn’t show up for work and had asked the management to check on him.
Police found 46-year-old Robert Andrews; his 46-year-old wife, Tammy; his 17-year-old daughter, Sarah; and the family dog dead.
Investigators say it appears Andrews shot his family and then killed himself.
Police say a pistol that may have been used in the slayings was recovered. A motive for the shootings was being sought.
Friends say the family moved to Garland from Briargate, a neighborhood in north Colorado Springs, in March.
