DENVER—The Colorado State Patrol says alcohol is suspected as a contributing factor in a one-vehicle crash that killed a Highlands Ranch man.
Authorities say 39-year-old Douglas J. Schaben was northbound on the E-470 tollway early Saturday when the 2008 Toyota Tacoma he was driving went off the right side of the road and hit a post.
The car rotated and flipped at least twice, ejecting Schaben through the driver’s window. He was taken to a Littleton hospital where he later died.
The Patrol says Schaben was not wearing a seat belt.
Highlands Ranch is a sprawling subdivision just south of Denver.
