After announcing in September he was coming back from a three-year retirement, but then stopping short of saying he would race in the Tour de France, Lance Armstrong made it official Monday: The seven-time champion told The Associated Press he will ride in the 2009 race, which begins July 4. Not only that, the 37-year-old also will compete in the Giro d’Italia (May 9-31), the first time he has done both in the same year. It’s a doubleheader on spokes, so to speak.
