AURORA, Colo.—A robbery suspect shot and killed by Aurora police has been identified as 18-year-old Brandon J. Winn.
Police said Wednesday Winn had pointed a gun at officers when he was shot and killed by a single gunshot fired by an Aurora officer. The officer’s name hasn’t been released.
Winn was suspected of an armed street robbery in Denver last month. Aurora police spokeswoman Shannon Youngquist-Lucy says Denver and Aurora officers had staked out a home on Tuesday when Winn ran out, pointing a gun at them.
The shooting occurred near Olympic Park in the east Denver suburb.
