The Erie High School graduate led the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and the Central Region in both kills and total points (536) this past season and ranked seventh in NCAA statistics for kills per set (4.27). She had nine 20-or-more kill performances and was in double figures in all but two of the Grizzlies’ 28 matches. She also recorded 11 double-doubles in 2008 while leading the team in service aces with 31.
Adams State Hall of Famer Keri Abbott was the previous ASC volleyball player to earn All-America honors; she was named to the NAIA team in 1991.
WSC’s Moskowitz promoted.
Western State promoted Katie Moskowitz to head volleyball coach, athletic director Greg Waggoner said. Moskowitz was a Mountaineers assistant last season.
She replaces Shawn Back, who coached nine seasons at Western before resigning in November.
Moskowitz previously was head coach at Adams State, leading the Grizzlies to an RMAC West Division title in her first season.
