ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Fresno State accepted a bid to play in the New Mexico Bowl, the first bowl game of the season. And the Bulldogs could face Colorado State.

Fresno State, which tied Hawaii, Louisiana Tech and Nevada for second place in the Western Athletic Conference, will meet a Mountain West team Dec. 20.
That MWC team likely will be the Rams (6-6). CSU is expected to accept an invitation to New Mexico on Sunday afternoon.
The New Mexico Bowl will play on Dec. 20 and will be televised by ESPN.
It will be Fresno State’s ninth bowl appearance in the past 10 seasons. This season, the Bulldogs beat BCS teams Rutgers and UCLA.
