Not trying to exploit Plaxico Burress’ misfortune or anything, bed manufacturer Hollandia International has renamed its Safe-T Bed “The Plax Bed,” which features a heavy-duty safe built into the bed and a hefty price tag: $20,000. A publicity e-mail says: “Plaxico could have ‘safely’ slept through the night and had a ‘safe’ place to keep his treasured artillery,” adding Hollandia “originally developed the bed for the international customer who wanted to keep a handgun safely stored yet close to him for security purposes.” However, the company realized U.S. customers, such as Plaxico, might also want the bed.
