BLANCA, Colo.—The Colorado State Patrol says three people are dead after a two-vehicle crash near the southern Colorado town of Blanca.
The crash happened shortly before 11 a.m. Thursday on County Road KK.7 at Aspen Street.
The patrol says a Dodge Ram pickup truck was westbound on the county road when it failed to yield to a Ford F350 pickup truck that was southbound on Aspen.
The front of the Ford collided with the passenger side of the Dodge.
The patrol says the driver of the Ford, 63-year-old Richard Karp, and a passenger in the Dodge, 81-year-old Rosa Thompson, died at the scene. The driver of the Dodge, Thompson’s husband, 88-year-old Arthur Thompson, was transported to an Alamosa hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
All three were from Blanca.
The patrol says an investigation is under way, but weather was not a factor.
