John Daly joined an Australian rock legend on stage at the Australian PGA pretournament dinner and left the singer and the crowd of about 500 mightily impressed. Daly, grabbing a guitar, upstaged Jimmy Barnes, a former member of the Australian band Cold Chisel, with a rendition of Bob Dylan’s “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door.” Barnes, an enthusiastic golfer who played in the tournament pro-am, was impressed with Daly. “If I could play golf as well as you sing, I’d be on the pro tour,” Barnes told Daly on stage. Daly released a country album, the 11-song “My Life,” in 2002. The Associated Press
