BROOMFIELD, Colo.—Internet network provider Level 3 Communications Inc. has named Jeff K. Storey as president and chief operating officer.
Storey replaces Level 3 co-founder Kevin O’Hara, who held both jobs until resigning in March as the company struggled to integrate a host of acquisitions.
Broomfield-based Level 3 announced Storey’s appointment Friday. He will report to CEO James Q. Crowe.
The 48-year-old Storey was previously president of Leucadia Telecommunications Group, part of Salt Lake City-based Leucadia National Corp.
He also spent five years with WilTel Communications and its predecessors. He was president and CEO of WilTel from 2002 until its sale to Level 3 in December 2005.
