LONGMONT — Police say they are investigating employees of a Longmont restaurant where customers have reported that their credit and debit card numbers were used for more than $155,000 in unauthorized purchases.
Longmont police say 137 cases of identity theft have been reported so far and they suspect they are tied to the East Moon II Asian Bistro. An employee at the restaurant said today the owners were on vacation and couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
Cmdr. Tim Lewis says detectives are working with the restaurant’s managers to identify any employees who may have been involved in the thefts.
Police say the numbers may have been stolen between August and October. Reports of the thefts began last month.
