LINCOLN, Neb.—Nebraska football coach Bo Pelini says his team hasn’t played up to its full potential all season, but he’s hoping for a better performance in a bowl game.
The Cornhuskers (8-4) will likely play the Clemson Tigers (7-5) in the Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, Fla., on Jan. 1. An official announcement is expected on Sunday.
After Saturday morning’s practice, Pelini said the team has earned a bowl bid, and the players are looking forward to it.
Pelini said the team is practicing hard, but there’s a lot of work ahead. The coach said the team left a lot of points on the field in its 40-31 win over Colorado on Nov. 28.
The Huskers are scheduled to practice again on Monday.
