Fort Collins SWAT teams used chemicals to flush out a man who barricaded himself in his home after threatening members of his family today, police said.

Michael Cramer, 29, threatened family members and drove his truck into a parked family vehicle at about 9 a.m., in the 300 block of Brinn Court, according to a police press release.

Police who responded to the report of harassment and stalking found Cramer in the 3600 block of Dalton Drive in Larimer County.

Cramer refused to follow police officers and come out of his home for several hours before Larimer County and Fort Collins SWAT Teams were called in.

He refused to talk to a negotiator and officers used chemical gas to get him out of the home. He was arrested at about 3 p.m.

Poudre School District officials were notified of the incident but police said that nearby students and neighbors were never in danger. The case is under investigation.
