Getting your player ready...

After being bought out by the Nuggets, Antonio McDyess has re-signed with the Pistons, and one close friend thinks it’s a good move.

“He’s going to help them a tremendous amount,” said Nuggets guard Chauncey Billups, the former Piston who was traded with McDyess to Denver on Nov. 3. “He’s a veteran and is familiar with everyone on the team. He’s going to play extremely hard. I’m sure they’re happy to have him, because they could really use him.”

The Pistons are 7-8 with Allen Iverson, the player they acquired for Billups, McDyess and reserve post Cheikh Samb. McDyess was bought out by Denver the week of the trade, and rules stipulated that he had to wait 30 days before re-signing with Detroit.

“I talk to him quite frequently since the trade, so I wasn’t really surprised,” Billups said. “I’m just happy for him to be back playing because that’s my buddy.”

The Nuggets, meanwhile, are 13-4 with Billups in the lineup, entering Wednesday’s home game against Minnesota, a team Denver has already defeated twice this season.
