The suspected killer of Denver Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams is under investigation for allegedly possessing dangerous contraband at Denver City Jail.
Willie DeWayne Clark, 25, is expected to be formally charged for the incident today and has an advisement scheduled this morning in Denver County Court.
Details of what kind of contraband he is accused of possessing were not available Tuesday.
Also on Tuesday, Chief U.S. District Judge Wiley Y. Daniel granted a motion filed by federal prosecutors to dismiss Clark’s crack-cocaine case in that court.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephanie Podolak asked the judge to drop Clark’s federal case because he is facing two state murder charges.
“I do not think that Mr. Clark will be back here,” Podolak said. “I think this is a strong case and I think (the state) will prevail on that.” The Denver Post
