PUEBLO, Colo.—Pueblo City Manager Dave Galli has resigned after a falling-out with the City Council, but the reasons haven’t been made public.
The council voted 6-1 on Monday night to accept Galli’s resignation.
Councilman Ray Aguilera voted against the resignation. He has said Galli was being forced out in part because he closed a downtown street for an Obama campaign rally without consulting the council.
Councilwoman Vera Ortegon denies that was a factor. She describes Galli’s departure as a divorce caused by “the little issues in his tenure” but declined to be specific.
Council President Barbara Vidmar says she was unhappy with Galli’s handling of revenue forecasts, but she hasn’t indicated if that was a factor in his departure.
Galli had been in the job for two years.
