Republican National Committee chairman Mike Duncan begins his bid for re-election as a slight favorite among a crowded field of candidates vying for the GOP’s top job, Republicans say.
Duncan announced Wednesday he will seek another term as RNC chairman, making official a decision Republicans have anticipated for weeks.
In an interview with Politico, Duncan cast himself as the candidate who best combined experience with a vision for changing the party.
“I’m the most qualified person to do the job. I have a record that I’m very proud of,” Duncan said, listing grassroots organizing and investment in technology among his top priorities in leading the GOP.
