Denver jail deputies on Wednesday said they found a homemade knife in the cell of Willie DeWayne Clark, a suspect in the Jan. 1, 2007, homicide of Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams. Sheriff’s Capt. Frank Gale said deputies began a search Monday of the area of the Denver County Jail where Clark is housed and noticed a piece of metal was missing. That finding triggered a search of individual cells, during which deputies allegedly found a plastic orange spoon that had been broken and sharpened into a cutting instrument in Clark’s cell.
