Nancy Knight, Evergreen: This statue is lovingly placed in the garden at Anchor Center for Blind Children, which has provided wonderful instruction for visually impaired and blind children since the ’80s. The new building at Stapleton has room for many sensory experiences and plenty of opportunities for the early development of literacy for children with visual impairment. I was a teacher for infants when Anchor Center was housed in another location in the late 1980s.
