DENVER—The man accused of killing Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams denies he hid a homemade knife in his jail cell.
Authorities say they found a plastic spoon sharpened into a weapon in Willie D. Clark’s cell this week. He’s been charged with introducing contraband, a felony.
Clark told KUSA-TV Thursday he was framed.
He told the station: “I’m innocent and I had nothing to do with nothing these people are talking about.”
Clark says jail officials issued him a white plastic spoon. The knife authorities say they found in his cell was made from an orange spoon.
He refused to discuss the Williams case.
Clark faces murder charges in Williams’ drive-by shooting on New Year’s Day in 2007 and in the 2006 death of a witness in an unrelated case.
