DENVER—Colorado is preparing to cast the only presidential votes that will be counted by Congress.
Nine Democratic members of the Electoral College meet in Denver Monday for a ceremony awarding the state’s electoral voted to President-elect Barack Obama.
Obama is the first Democrat to carry Colorado since 1992, and only the third in the last six decades. The Electoral College is a formality.
Colorado law requires the electors to choose the winner of the state’s popular presidential vote, and Obama will be the only name on their ballots Monday.
