LINCOLN, Neb.—Nebraska football players have selected season team captains: Joe Ganz, Nate Swift, Zach Potter and Ty Steinkuhler.
Under coach Bo Pelini, the Huskers selected offensive, defensive and special teams captains for each game. At the end of the season, a vote determined the season captains.
Pelini says the system gives the players ownership.
The Huskers are preparing to take on Clemson in the Jan. 1 Gator Bowl. They practiced Monday in Lincoln.
But Pelini says it was a skeleton crew of coaches, as most of them are out recruiting.
Also Monday, Pelini said linebacker Phillip Dillard is recovering from an injury but isn’t full-speed yet. Pelini hopes to have Dillard back on the practice field in two weeks.
