Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper was tight-lipped Monday about whether President-elect Barack Obama’s transition team has asked him for personal information to facilitate a background check.
Hickenlooper’s name has surfaced as a potential candidate for one of the president-elect’s few remaining Cabinet positions — likely transportation secretary.
Asked through his spokeswoman whether any members of Obama’s team had asked for personal information about him, Hickenlooper refused to answer.
Instead, he said: “I suspect there are probably long lists for all these Cabinet positions, and if my name is on any such list, I’m guessing it’s a pretty long one.”
